American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora

Second star to the right, and straight on to Miami” was the route to Never-neverland for many of the over 14,000 Cuban children of Operation Pedro Pan. The story of this unique generational cohort whose lives were forever changed by their 45-minute flight to freedom from communism is on display through an array of personal artifacts, official documents, and archival images starting March 24, 2021 at Miami’s American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora (the Cuban).

Among the children of Operation Pedro Pan was Maximo Alvarez, President of Sunshine Gasoline Distributors.

Mr. Alvarez has played an integral role in supporting the  museum to help educate the public on this important chapter of the history of Cuba and the United States.

Hayden Blaylock Key West Challenge, presented by Sunshine Gasoline Distributors!

Since its inception in 1989, the annual Hayden Blaylock Key West Challenge presented by Sunshine Gasoline Distributors tournament has provided an excellent opportunity for Shell employees, jobbers, and vendors to gather together for three days of outstanding fishing in the Florida Keys. But more importantly, each year, the tournament raises thousands of dollars for charities. In fact, during the past 25 years, more than $2 million in contributions have been made, first to the National Mental Health Association and over $925,000 to the Diabetes Research Institute.
